Dr Mark Richardson is an Upper Gastrointestinal and General Surgeon, with extensive experience in oesophageal, gastric, and pancreatic surgery.  Dr Richardson is the Head of the Department of General Surgery at Nepean Hospital, and holds appointments at Nepean and Nepean Private Hospitals, and Blacktown Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital.

 

Dr Richardson received his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1988, and subsequently trained as a General Surgeon, being made a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon in 1996. Dr Richardson then pursued post fellowship training in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, working at The Royal Adelaide Hospital and Concord Hospital. During this time, Dr Richardson developed expertise in the management of oesophageal,  gastric and pancreatic cancer, as well as the management of complex gallstone disease and the surgical management of gastro oesophageal reflux disease.
