Cholecystectomy or removal of the gallbladder is necessary to treat many conditions such as symptomatic gallstones, pancreatitis or gallbladder Tumours or polyps. This is most commonly performed using keyhole surgery.

Endoscopy & Colonoscopy

This involves using a scope that is approximately the size of your finger to look at the internal lining of the upper-gastrointestinal system or the colon. Commonly, it is performed for diagnosis or surveillance of known disease. It is performed using sedation and does not usually require a general anaesthetic. A colonoscopy involves pre-procedure preparation but often you will be able to return to work the day after the procedure.

Reflux

Reflux can manifest in many different ways. It may be bile or acid reflux, due to the volume of food or fluid, or its pH/acidity. Patients may have symptoms such as cough, regurgitation, indigestion, waterbrash, asthma, teeth erosions, dysphagia and voice changes. Additionally, a hiatus hernia may cause mechanical or physiological changes, which increase your susceptibility to reflux.
